SUHFARS Meeting

| The Winter 2001 meeting was held at
JJ Twiggs, in Lake Zurich. The meeting was called to order at 18:55 by Skip K9SA. Kirby reported on the treasury, which is sufficient to pay the phone bills for another year. Current membership is atabout 33 + family members, with all but 3 fully paid up for the coming year. Skip reported that the repeater seems to be working well but still running at slightly reduced power. A discussion on this years Field Day participation was held. It has been proposed that we conduct a joint participation with the Palatine ESDA group, this year. Since many of the Palatine group are also SUHFARS members this seemed to make a lot of sense and the general consensus was that it would be a great idea. A joint planning meeting will be held soon to consolidate plans. The final order of business was election of officers for the coming year. Frank - N9QPD moved that Kirby - KA9UMJ be re-elected as treasurer. This was seconded and passed by unanimous vote. K.C. - KG9JP moved that Mark - KG9PF be re-elected as Secretary. This was seconded and passed by unanimous vote. John - K9IJ moved that Skip - K9SA be re-elected as Club President. This was seconded and passed by unanimous vote. Elections concluded. Frank - N9QPD moved that the meeting schedule be expanded to three meetings per year. This was seconded by Robbie - WA9INF, discussed and all were in favor. It was recommended that the meeting dates be planned further in advance, to hopefully get more participation. K9BAM was voted in as a new member of SUHFARS. The meeting closed at 19:45.
